The auction was in October, but I don’t know the exact day. I remember where I was that week vividly. I had been to five west coast shows and wanted one from one of the shows I had attended. In fact, at this show I had done a sound check package that came with a front row seat. When he came out with that guitar I yelled up “that’s going to be my guitar!” and he smiled at me. Not sure he heard but it was still a cool moment. I was happy that was the one I ended up with.
