Fender’s EVH Gear introduced their popular Striped Series line of guitars in 2013, which are affordable tributes to some of Edward’s most iconic hand-striped designs from the 70s and 80s.  The original White & Black from Van Halen I, Black & Yellow Bumblebee, and the classic Red, White & Black Frankenstrat have been the three staples of the product line since its inception.

In 2014, EVH hit the ground running with a Limited Edition tribute of The Circles guitar that was Edward’s Unchained go-to on the 1981 Fair Warning Tour.  This guitar was an instant hit with die hard Van Halen fans since it had been featured and made famous in the 1981 Oakland, California concert video footage regularly played on MTV back in the day.

The next year’s surprise addition from EVH was The Star Guitar tribute to the 1980 Van Halen World Invasion Tour in support of the Women and Children First album.  This guitar was another one of Ed’s favorites from that era and truly unique.

The Circles guitar (1432 made between 2014-2016) would be the favorite to win the popular vote thanks to its traditional Strat body shape and for being featured in such a beloved video, but The Star guitar is nearly twice as rare even though it was available for about twice as long (876 produced between 2015-2019).
